I've been meaning to write a review for this lovely restaurant for quite a while, but I don't believe that I have.
From the outside, I originally thought that this was just a pizza joint. While I understand that their pizza is very good, this is anything but "_just_ a pizza joint"--each time that I've gone here, it has felt as if I were having a special dinner out.
I've thoroughly enjoyed their seafood scampi, which contained clams, mussels, and shrimp; their chicken piccata (mmmm...white wine lemon-butter sauce and capers); and their veal francese (white wine lemon-butter sauce again--sensing a theme?)--YUM! The portions are generous and the food delicious.
On one of the occasions that I was there, the service was a bit slow; but I thoroughly enjoyed each meal enough that the one night of slower service isn't changing my rating of a 5. Who would have thought that this tiny hidden gem in Torrington, CT, would have such a well-executed menu. Grazie!
Can't go wrong here. Dine in, take out, delivery. This place is friendly, clean, and the food is just great. I rarely give any place a five score unless it is truly exceptional. Vinny's is that. Exceptional.
Impressive portions and food choices. When for dinner after Saturday Mass. Service was excellent and so were the prices. Very good choice,

I gave it 4 stars as its really hard to get 5 stars from me. I generally get Take Out on the weekends and Vinnys is one of my favorite go to for take out.(they do having seating and parking in rear) I call they tell when to pick it up and its READY, Not like some other places where you wait 10-15 minutes after you arrive. I've been go to Vinnys for a few years now as I'm a Local Resident. Chicken Parm is a good choice either grinder or meal. (the meal will feed 2) Pizza is Good as well, we generally get a white Pizza, Try it, you won't be disappointed if you like Italian food.
If you like your chicken wings to be nice and crispy, be sure to try Vinny's. I've never had wings cooked as perfectly as Vinny's does. I prefer to order them naked (no sauce) and then when I get them to my house I dump some Frank's on them. Biting into the wings is a succulent journey of that crispitty crunch on the outside, to an ever so juicy piece of meat on the inside. You'll be licking your fingers and looking for a second order for sure!
Recently stopped in for dinner while in town for a show at the Warner theatre and was very impressed. The restaurant was small and quaint and seemed like a favorite for those in the area. After my meal, it was easy to see why. Each meal came with your choice of soup or salad and pasta or a vegetable. I ordered the zuppa de pesce which included a generous amount of clams, mussels, calamari and shrimp and the marinara sauce was delicious. The freshly baked bread completed the meal. I would certainly visit again for dinner if I was in the area.
Vinny's is our go to place for good dinner, not fancy just constantly good food. We get steaks usually and the kids love their lemon chicken. Soups always tastes great and wait staff is friendly.
Great service and outstanding bread. I has numerous pizza's and enjoyed them all. When I make homemade pizza their dough is the best to cook with. Also ordered 25 pizza's for a gathering and was not only given a great deal but delivery was prompt and pizza were piping hot.
Best pizza in town in my honest opinion. Quick service and always very pleasant servers. Will definitely be going back here soon.
We were unfamiliar with Torrington. We chose Vinny's off the internet because it was close to CT-8 and the concert venue (Studio 59) to which we were headed. We arrived, found parking behind the building, and told the very personable waitress that we needed to be out in 45 minutes. No problem, she said. The restaurant was fairly crowded, with a nice buzz of relaxed conversation. We - two adults and a teen - ordered two glasses of wine, a soda, an entree salad, a small pizza and a cold Italian combo grinder (toasted bun, mayo and oil, double meat). The service was quick. The salad was good, as was the pizza. The grinder may have been the best I've ever eaten - it was too loaded to be able to fold closed, and the mix of peppers, tomato slices, lettuce, cold cuts and dressings on the toasted bun was fabulous. The portions were so big that we needed doggy bags for the pizza and the grinder. The bill for three - before tip - was $42.00, and we were out without being rushed and time to spare. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. If we ever get back to Torrington, we will be heading back to Vinny's.
Vinny's has excellent Italian food and a large selection of meals. You get a ton of food for the price, and the service was great as well. I realize there are a ton of Italian restaurants in the area, and Vinny's is worth a visit.
I’ve past by this little place many times while shopping or riding through downtown Torrington. I never really paid it much mind. Don`t get me wrong it`s not that it isn`t welcoming I just thought it was just another pizza place.
Well wrong, we went there the other evening and I was very surprised to see that there is a small dining room off to the side. Their menu greeted me with surprise it had a number of Veal dishes, pasta, salads and appetizers. As the surrounding customers dinners arrived I could see the steam billowing off the plates. All the entrees traveling by my eyes looked fantastic. The portions seemed very generous also. We had a pizza because I already had my mind set on it before we entered the place; however we will defiantly return for dining one evening. Always Chefnfly
Vinny's has a very sizable menu with lots of Italian entrees, subs, and pizza. Their entrees come in very generous portions. I highly recommend their pizza and wings. Its extremely tasty and one of the best values in town. They also offer huge slices to go when you absolutely have to have something fast.
I love Vinny's Pizza! They have HUGE slices that you can buy just one for not a lot of $$. They deliver too and are there when they say they will be. They have quite a variety on their menu, however they are my "go to" place for pizza.
The pizza is delish! The Margharita pizza is must try! Their dinners are excellent also at reasonable prices. Portions are good size.
My family and I love this place! It has the best bacon and meatball pizza. The food is always good and you get a lot for your money. They offer delivery and if you eat at the restaurant, it is a very clean and nicely decorated place. The staff is very nice and they are very efficient.
We order every Friday and love the pizza!!! The calzone's are great and their meals are soo yummy!!!
Casual dining with good Italian food. Fairly priced with good portions. Staff is always very friendly.
